About Kristy Ann Valent Pordon

Kristy Valent Pordon was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, wife and friend. Kristy was a lifelong resident of Pequannock Township, was the youngest of five children, and the only girl. Kristy was a true family girl, offering loving support and advice to her many nieces and nephews, and spending time with her parents and brothers whenever she could.
After graduating from Pequannock Township high school, Kristy was grateful to have been awarded a scholarship through the American Legion that allowed her to pay for her books at Berkeley College where she received her Associate's degree. She was an avid reader and had a knack for writing short stories. In her spare time, Kristy took creative writing classes specializing in writing children's stories and had hopes of getting one of her stories published. Her favorite story was a fun Halloween story for kids, with the moral of the story to always stay true to yourself; something that Kristy was an expert on.
Halloween was also Kristy's favorite holiday, which is why we love celebrating her life with our spooky version of lawn flamingos, and many of our fundraising events are Halloween and autumn themed. Her absence is felt every day by her family and friends, and we are grateful to our spectacular community for allowing us to continue to honor Kristy every year with our spooky birds, face painting, murder mystery dinners, and all of our other fundraising events.
Kristy believed in the power of positive thinking and always did her best to look at life with enthusiasm and hope. It is because of her positive outlook on life and kindness and compassion for others that we have chosen an annual scholarship for our local PTHS students to honor her memory.
Thank you for helping us honor her memory, and help others achieve their goals!
